    Companies would rather pull Amazon.

well dude, there's "X" amount of drivers and they can either pull for Amazon or Choice 'B'. Nevertheless, there's "X" amount of drivers. Just because Amazon needs drivers does not necessarily produce drivers.

I saw somewhere a few weeks ago that Matell said that last year Target sold more of their toys than Toys R Us. I think they will survive.

The last time I paid ground freight on a computer build stack of parts, it spent 4 days in Arizona and then one more in NM. Texas needed two.

Half the parts did not survive the heat imposed on them.

When I order air, I get it set and paid monday by 6 am my time, they have it confirmed out of CA (*CIty of industry) and onto the airplane midday, Little Rock by Dinner at the distribution center. to my home next morning.

Sometimes it originates in the Memphis Ware house and it goes by truck. No problem. Now when it originates out of New Jersey, that is a problem, takes all day to get it to the airport then to either louisville or Memphis.

I once ordered a part via Amazon several xmases ago for half retail, it was a 6 core CPU that I got from Florida for 440 cash rather than paying 820 something plus tax retail. That CPU is doing well, but approaching 21000 hours on it so far. It's up 24/7 And cooled by a liquid 360 radiator with 6 fans push and pull on it. The previous radiator on the first CPU burned through after 4 years because it was not big enough for what I had on it in that machine.

At some point I will build one more machine and that's going to be the very last one in this life time. Im just waiting for pure fiber to reach my area. (We already have it but it's last mile crappy Ethernet instead of Fiber to every home from neighborhood nodes.

Anyway, there are trucks, And plenty of drivers. It's the regulators and insurance companies that pretty much have the final say if so and so can be hired or not. The problem needs to be fixed at that level.

HOS ELD means nothing. With the exception of those dummies who do all 11 hours driving thinking there is going to be free parking when ELD says youre finished.

Got to love fake news. The limit was always there. More spin designed to pervert facts.

Amazon has no trucks. They hire LTL and logistic providers as well as direct contract with O/O. There goal is to have enough DCs that they can just use drones.

Actually, it keeps the overall cost lower across the board.

This fact from the article was news to me: "Previously, a driver may have started the clock only after picking up goods from a warehouse. "

It is why people have begun to realize fake news is very real ;)

Reporters say things that are just not so. Either out of agenda or ignorance makes no diffrrence.
