Tell the truth. Either way it doesn't matter much. If someone with a badge decides it's your day to die there's not much you can about it.

If you happen to have a gun or a machete or bear-spray or something else which is commonly regarded as a "weapon", then stay calm and courteous and tell the officer about it if he asks, and be ready to tell him anything else he might care to know about it (such as where it is, what you have it with you for, whether or not you are familiar with the local laws governing weapons, etc.). -- Make sure you at least aren't giving the officer any reason why he should use his weapons. -

2) after the question comes up the best repky woukd be: (respectfully) **Officer "Smith"...it is my understanding that this is a Traffic Stop. Do you have any questions related to this Traffic stop.?? repeat the same statement every time he repeats the question, always very respectfully and if he insists then request the presence of the Sargeant (shift supervisor). If You have a CCW....then make sure you know and understand ALL the details of the reciprocity Act of the State you are driving Thru.
