We can all state the obvious here like was said earlier shoulda coulda woulda. What happened is a shame for all the parties involved especially the dead guy, and really "coulda" been avoided. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this type of story in the next few years unfortunately. Even Obama just said it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Boy was that a real shot in the arm for the country, sometimes the truth hurts.:biggrin_2552:

One life ended and another life (possibly two) ruined?

I too question the wisdom of leaving a loved one alone
    while going inside a building.
Not to mention, attending to other things while in there.

Get in --- get out quickly would seem to make more sense,
especially if there's concern for the safety of another.

It sounds more like there was little concern to begin with.

Also, and IF the transient's pants were down around his ankles, .....
was that on purpose, or a result of ill fitting pants?
Homeless people don't always have the luxury of properly fitted clothing.
Perhaps, as he reached to clean the
windshield his pants FELL down -----
    And caused a misunderstanding?

I find it kind of odd that you blame the man & his girlfriend for choosing to do the things they did. I have been hassled by panhandlers but have never thought "Hmmm perhaps he may try to attack my wife & I will have to kill him, hey wife, come inside". Since this is the U. S., you have the FREEDOM to stay in your vehicle without having to be hassled. Not every case of a panhandler leads to confrontation beyond "leave me alone". I should not have to bring my whole family into any location just because... Also, if he have been charged with murder does not mean he will be convicted. If all the witnesses need to be re-interviewed, I believe it is because all the stories they gave do not match enough to have the DA be confident enough to pursue this issue. If they stay inconsistent then it could go to the defendent as self defense if that is what say it was...

Please point out where I "blamed" ANYone.
    I have questions.
    That ain't blaming.
That might be viewed as premeditated if one was to kill that person when other options were available.

Apparently there was no indication of any danger, ---
Which also might indicate there was none, and an over-reaction MIGHT have occurred.
WhatEVER country and it's freedoms, if one senses a potential danger, one also has the "freedom" to do whatever necessary to AVOID any "hassles".
Better to be safe than sorry.
    Twue.
    Twue.
    Again, twue.
But, considering how much the attorney fees will be, might it have been a tad cheaper to let a homeless person just wash the windshield?
    20-20 hindsight?
    That's possible.
And it could also be possible that they're re-interviewing witnesses to strengthen their case.
.And if more witnesses come forward to testify as to the homeless man's honesty and non-combative demeanor, it could go against the man charged with his death.

And although I wouldn't consider it murder, it COULD be considered manslaughter.
    Ya reckon.

The whole incident was captured on security video . Cameras don't lie . A lot of victims got to be victims experiencing the FREEDOM of staying in their vehicle .
