I think they ought to make these people wear a mask that is hooked to the stacks of 1445's monster Cat... then have him pull a black-smoking dyno run while they breathe deeply. Then they might have something to complain about.:biggrin_25525:

They are probably liberals cause those are the ones who complain about those smelly diesel fuel polluting trucks.

My sister bought a house in a nice neighborhood, non industrial. Then lost her ### when she tried to sell it 5 years later.

A major grocery chain built a DC about 3 blocks from her house. It got re-zoned after she bought her house.

We're all victims of urban sprawl, we move out to get away from the filth, cost, and crime. And companies do the same.

However, companies typically win. Due to the tax dollars they bring into a community, being higher than our piddly property taxes.

When this happens, then I do feel sorry for the folks involved. It is when people move into an area where there is already {(choose one) an airport, an industrial area, a sports arena, a shopping center, and the list can go on and on,} that I have no sympathy for them.

People move near an airport and then want the airport to move??????:biggrin_25516:

In the above article, the people are worrying about the trucking facility detracting from their lives. But they aren't at all wondering how attractive their lives would be without the trucking industry now, are they.:biggrin_2552:

I actually have a 50 truck terminal operation within 2 blocks of my house. :D It's been there for 20 years. It was actually behind my house, until they bought the other property.

But we fought tooth and nail with our city, over a proposed apartment complex being built the next street over.

We won in the end. The city couldn't afford to fix the sewers :biggrin_25525:

Theyre one of the millions of yuppies that live in the north east. What a suprise.
I think they should get what they want. Their lives filled with peace and quiet...far away from the big, polluting, noisy semi trucks. In exchange for this, they do NOT get to enjoy anything carried by a semi truck for one week.
Some people cant see their hand in front of their face.
