I was a company driver for a flatbed outfit and we hauled a few military loads for them when they were short on trucks. Ran Ft. Lewis,WA to Wilmington,NC

So they are and you are not. Get experience first, then become an O/O second.

So you are really clueless to what it really going on. You don't seem to understand how it works or why it may be a good step for some while others they will fail even if they were given a truck.

Again with all the things to focus on, you lack an understanding of what matters more - engines do not.

Again with all the things to focus on, you lack an understanding of what matters more - warranties do not. It also shows you have no concept of how business works, warranties do not cover downtime or business costs which is why before you get a truck and think you are going to make big bucks, you save at least three months, maybe six months to cover all the bills for that downtime.

    AND?

Building a business takes sacrifice, you need to be on the road for at least a few years before buying a truck, otherwise your chances of failure increase with the lack of experience.

You first lesson is this - credit score doesn't matter, it is about commercial loans and how they are acquired. You need experience in the field you want to get money for, they don't just lend people money to buy the tools to make a business without it.

How long will it take for you to save $30k for your back up capital?

Thank you for all that information and not long at all I have just about 57k of my own liquid cash and me and my cousins combined have about 152k which is more than the 30k I come from a buisness background and I know it has nothing to do with trucking but trucking is pretty much what matters to you I’m not coming into trucking to be a multi millionaire I’ve built a financially sound life at an early age I own my house I have 2 cars I’m making payments on which don’t even amount to 500 a month I’m no dummy and I’m not saying any of this to brag but i know how to maneuver a buisness it doesn’t take rocket science to figure out trucking it’s what you make of it I know I need experience which is why I’m working with a company now engines don’t matter but why do trucks stop on the side of the road? half the time it’s something wrong with the engine so in that since they do matter an engine can make or break you u wouldn’t purchase a 2013 international pro star with a max force engine would you? Exactly there ####ty engines I’m well aware you need funds to get you by for the hard times you need that with any buisness see where I’m getting here none the less I appreciate your advice

will their insurance companies cover you with only 1 year experience. I'd be asking that 1st and foremost before making any hasty decisions

It amazing how many times this question gets asked, dude really do your due diligence is the best advice i could give, most of all you need enough cash reserves to pull you through all your start up costs and at least the first 3 months of running, after that the money should start rolling in and if you have a good cash turn over it'll get easier. After expenses you need to earn enough to pay yourself a wage say $650 for example it could be more or less depending on your weekly needs. If your not earning enough to do that O/O would not be a good option and you'd best be driving for someone else, remember when you drive for them they have all the worries once you drive for yourself you will inherit all the stress.
