They got me lookin like a #### fool when I start my turn and forget to turn it off. What in God's name were they thinking? Did they test drive these trucks before putting them on the line? Idiots....
What genius thought to put the Jake switch right on the frickin steering wheel

what messes me up is when I put on my turn signal and my trailer brakes lock up. I'm like WTF???
DozerCowboy and tucker Thank this. -
I thought that was the gear selector!

It might have been the same genius who said, “let’s put self canceling turn signals on trucks. That will be a fantastic idea!”

The same one that took the gear shifts out.rank and snowman_w900 Thank this.

Wow, What are you doing with your hands while making a turn to press the button? Pounding all over the steering wheel? Some kind of spastic flailing? Maybe you will develop a more graceful technique.
06driver Thanks this. -
It was pretty bad my first couple days with the truck, I used to have one as a lever right behind the steering wheel and never realized how spoiled I was. I just recently put a piece of tape over the button so it' not really a problem now, I've also gotten into the habit of turning off the Jake when I'm done with it.

It was really easy to shut it off in my old truck and I never really got into the habit of turning them off at the right time. After two weeks with this truck thats changed. Still forget once or twice a day but I'm getting better. I still think it' a bad spot for the Jake switch.

Good luck.
I've been dealing with it the last couple of years. I can't stand it being there either for the same reason.
In the middle of a clover leaf exit ramp and realize it's still on its like crap where's the button , lmao.
A nearly 30yr habit is hard to break.
But at least I've finally stopped reaching to the dash to shut it off lol.
Totally agree a ss9 place for it.Last edited: May 1, 2018
