I have done it going to C-1 in Little Rock have signed on with PAM. I am aware of the downfalls with the CDL mills and these companies but I'm willing to deal with it for a year so I can get experience under my belt. I've a read a few things on PAM but no one has actually given a great deal of information on the company things like average mileage, how are they to work for so on and so on...If anyone could be so kind as to drop the bomb on me and tell the ins and outs of PAM thanks in advance.
I have taken the plunge!!!

Congratulations, you have taken the first step towards a lucrative and rewarding career!! LOL, just pulling your chain.
Seriously though, you seem to have the right attitude. Go with PAM, and get the experience needed to make better choices if it doesn't work out with them.
I have never driven for PAM, but I have spent alot of time on this forum and have found that no matter what company you ask about, you will get alot of responses from drivers telling you how bad they are.
Learn from your own experience! The first six months or so, you will have to have broad shoulders, and whatever shxt they give you (if any), consider it as a learning experience. Who knows, PAM may turn out to be a great company for you, and you will stay with them for a long time.
Anyway, whatever you do, do it the best you possibly can, and all the best to you. Keep us up to date on your progress!

So when will you be there. I'm leaving out tomorrow to head to Little Rock for three weeks. Much like you, "I am aware of the downfalls with the CDL mills and these companies but I'm willing to deal with it for a year so I can get experience under my belt." Except I'll be with USA. I've read both good and bad here about them but really think I can manage a year there. After that who knows.

Don't believe everything you hear from other drivers concerning your choice of company.
Everyone has to start somewhere and I'm sure PAM is no worse than any other company to get some experience with.
Just get your CDL, learn how to operate safely and efficiently, get your experience, and then make your own decision an whether or not they're a good company. -
Not to mention you never know you might love running with PAM. There are alot of bad posts on here bashing alot of companies. And some deservidly so. To each his or her own. BE safe out there and good luck. Dont kill me..

Yea I'm all about trying new things if it does turn out crappy thats just another thing to put under my belt. I'm going to try and have as much fun as possible. Keep the information coming.

I guess that means we may be there for a short time together. That will be the last week I'm there. If I'm still around by then
. Look for the middle aged man with short gray hair and glasses. Oh! and I'll probably have empty pockets 2!

I've heard C-1 is ok. At least they have decent trucks and they give you driving experience on the big road. Just watch for hot rod cars and big riggers running the granny lane on 30 west. You guys will step on at 65th street headed west and run up a piece then make a flip and come back down. C-1's yard isn't in the best area in the world... so watch yourself up there. Good luck with the career. Wish I could help ya out with PAM but I haven't dealt with them personally, so anything I could tell you would be rumor.
