I wonder if something was altered in the past. That is a new one on me.

Hope not. Like I say they had tons of gray silicone everywhere there was a sealing area on the front and back. Not sure if they were scared it was going to leak or if they just reused the old o-rings as most of the places that they used the silicone is o-rings that were not included in head set.

The problem is the front cam bearing. When installed it probably wasnt set at the proper depth. If you can get that bearing in a bit more it should work as its supposed to. The cam gear adapter is tightening against the bearing. At least thats what its always been for me

I do not remember thickness. The truck is still running though and has had no issues. Doing another one now and hope it goes smooth. Had to order a reman head for this one though. Should be putting on first of the week. Waiting on new rocker arm shafts.
