I am currently in the military and will be getting out in December of this year. I have already completed Troops into Transportation CDL School. I am looking for information regarding Local companies and jobs. the whole reason I'm even getting out is so I can be with my family more. I am looking for any helpful information. ( Best/worst companies) (do's/Dont's) I would like to start out around $50K if possible.

Consider looking at local and regional aggregate haulers or industrial gas and welding suppliers. Millis Transfer (dry van) and TMC (flatbed) would both work good living in that area.

Thank you for all the information, I have been a truck driver to the Army for 7 years with 3 years of verifyable 5th wheel experience. The companies I have called all of them said they will accept that experience. Your help here has been appreciated more thank you know, I just want to make a smooth transition out of the military and into a job that I love and can provide for my family. Don’t get me wrong, money is nice but family time is more valuable in my opinion.

Please seriously consider the job where you're doing unloading. The 600 to 1200 cases a day of unloading.
When you're young. You think no. Don't wanna work.
When you're older. You think yes. That's the smart thing to do. Keeps you healthy.
You're far better off with that job than one where you don't do physical work. Those are the best driving jobs. And you get rest when you're driving.
Think about it. Long and hard. I'm serious.

I have looked at TMC and they seem like a great company, only home on weekends is a downfall but I’m not afraid of hard work either. I just want to slow down some and enjoy being a husband and father.
