I can only say that all the trucks may not be purdy to look at but the maint. schedule is good as far as I am concerned....they do a lot to keep the drivers from sitting on the side of the road. I know if hubby even suspects a problem all he has to do is place a call and the repairs are being made. Hubby started out in a 94 and is now in a 04, a drivers safety record has influence on moving up into newer trucks, not length of service.

As for loading with a supervisor present I understand this might seem to be a draw back but, it will keep damages low, and increase your hubbys overall grade and that is important when it comes to the safety bonus at the end of the year. I dont see it causing that much of a problem as they are around A LOT., I realize not everyone will like PMTG, that is to be expected. I can only tell ya how things have been for us....and for almost 2 years now things have been better than ever, its not just the pay, it is the way they treat the drivers and families.

I won't say that I don't like PMTG, not enough experiences to base a decision like that. I just believed that the equipment that they use is worth mentioning. As far as the company my husband hasn't said anything bad or good for that matter. He has one more class this morning, then he gets a truck, then he drives to Greer,SC. As of yet, I still don't believe he has ordered any uniforms though, like rainman mentioned. I hope to have the good experiences that you all have had with them, as we would like to stay with a good company. He thought he would of retired from the last one after being with them almost eight years, but life always finds ways to throw out that curve ball.

Hi guys! As far as equipment goes. They run old trucks like these because if they were to sell them to buy new ones, a company can buy these relics and undercut them when contract time comes around and drive down the rates and in turn we all make less money. So far the company has been truthful with me and the loads are getting easier. I delivered 42 cars this week and was still home every night. Granted, being home pretty much has been enough time to grab a quick bite, shower, and a few hours of sleep. Today is the only day I can actually get anything done. Figures, it's raining here today and I wanted to get the pool closed. I tell anyone who wants to drive for PMTG, they have to not be afraid to get dirty and not afraid to work hard. Patience is also a critical part of the job. Yesterday, a bunch of us delivered at a BMW dealer in Fairfax,VA. I believe this one dealer received 44 cars! Friday night 4 drivers were all bustin' it to get loaded and get down there out of JVPC. I had 5 cars for them but 2 more for the dealer in Arlington,VA. I woke up about 6am, drove to Arlington, then got to Fairfax when everyone was already gone. When I got to Curtis Bay,MD for my reload, the other 4 were just starting to load or waiting for cars. I walked in, picked up my paperwork for my Long Island load and started to work with no delay. If you take your time and plan everything out, it sometimes works for you!:)

It won't take 6 months to load without a supervisor. As long as you don't tear up any cars, they'll let you load sooner. I've been out of Greer 2 weeks now and have received a load every time I've walked in. This is the beginning of the busy season as well. Tell your hubby not to be too concerned over the restriction. The only terminal that I heard that is really strict over it is Suburu in Indiana. A friend that I went through orientation with had to sit until the next morning there. Jersey and Maryland, you can pretty much load whenever you get there.

Update: Husband is in Greer, arrived Saturday, didn't have to report in until Monday morning. Monday, drove cars up the ramp and down the ramp. My husband sounds more interested than he has upto this point. He is not afraid of getting dirty or hard work, actually he rather prefers that. He said it is a trip and a half to find the cars, like it has been said, that place is 'HUGE'. I guess the most discouraging part was the truck, I guess what the deal was, was that his truck had an exhaust leak and in MI they didn't want to fix it until he asked them how much they would pay his wife when he died in his sleep from carbon minoxide, then I guess they did some sort of patch on it (not a mechanic, hubby said about 15 minutes worth, but I think I got the jist). But in Greer, currently his truck is being serviced for 'whatever' he put on his list. That's all for now....

Jamie makes the drivers open their trucks and write a list of problems. After I wrote my list, I never saw my truck again.:) The covered lot in Greer holds 1500 cars, so yes it is huge. If he has trouble with the z4s, tell him to not give up. They are the hardest car he may have to load and you only get them there in Greer. I haven't seen a z since I loaded my test load out of there. I am in my 3rd week out of Greer and the job is getting easier. I can load my 7 car carrier usually now in under 3 hours. Today is the shortest day I have had yet. I only worked 9.5 hours. I'm glad he's enjoying the job. He'll learn alot over the next few days.
