Colubris?

If I have a wireless card, and am at a Truck stop that has free wi-fi. Do I have to use theirs or will My air card take over? Do I want to use free Wi-Fi?

 

It is your choice. They do not operate on the same frequency.

 

Good luck finding a truck stop with free WiFi but Love's off I-24 in Calvert City , KY had free WiFi when I was there a couple of weeks ago . It shows up as Pilot when you scan . I connected to it and it was free . I used it 4 times`the first 2 weeks of December .

 

The last time I was through Joplin Mo, the Petro there had free wi fi. Good strong signal too, at least where I was parked at the Pilot across the street

 

Guess you never make it to a Bosslemans or a Sapp Bros. Tk Stop.
Both offer free wifi. Found it works best inside the building.

 

I too have an air card. It's my primary soruce of getting on the net. You have to go into the properties and change the setting on how you want it to work.

As well if you want to use wifi, make sure you manually turn it on. Mos laptops have a switch somewhere on the out side , to turn on the wifi.

Sometimes when iam at a palce with free wifi, i find it may be better than using the aircard. Do tot he location of being out in the sticks, and the air card runs slow.
It's all personal preferance.

 

I had so much trouble that I just went to Verizon's wireless and it's coverage everwhere they have cell phone coverage, so it's pretty good. So far...
