probably has to have a VIN/title certified check

probably has to have an emissions verified check (all working, no deletes?)

    good luck.

hopefully someone that has gone thru this will be here soon.

Don't do it unless it's a freebie. Too many other options.

I would imagine the import fees would be rather pricey. However, I've never done it. So, might be cheaper than I think.

Call a US customs broker, such as Norman Jensen. They do this all the time, much easier than trying to get through to US customs.
As with cars built for the North American market, Canadian and US spec trucks are now pretty much identical, minor changes such as a mph speedo might be required. Good, readable EPA labels on the engine are a real plus, as that is important for the border paperwork. As with cars, trucks older than 25 years are exempt from any EPA or DOT regulations.
With the favorable exchange (for Americans) Canadian used trucks are often a buy, and usually speced properly for a long life, especially trucks for the heavy haul market. Richie Bros is doing a booming business moving iron..
