Now the real question is, will a high insurance rate stop any of us? Most of can be written off right?

Did they offer an explanation why the policy went up 14k?

Did they use the common excuse of: the quote is just an estimate and once your application goes through the underwriting process and all your information is verified then the real premium is set....

I had been quoted for Progressive through an independent agent. New company, new authority, based in Florida (was told Florida more $ than most other states). Clean DL, very good credit. No recent verifiable T/T experience (w/in 3 years). $55k stated value on equipment, $750k liab (to be bumped up when authority gets activated), physical dmg coverage on equip, $100k cargo coverage including reefer breakdown coverage: $18151 for the year. No radius restriction.

I also did the RigQuote online:
    Auto liability
Trailer Type: Reefer, Radius of operations: Unlimited, VIN: ,
    Coverage Limit Deductible Premium
    Limit of Liability $1,000,000 $338
    Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist $100,000 $7
    Medical Payments $10,000 $7
    Personal Injury Protection $10,000 $7
    Cargo $250,000 $1,000ded $269
    Physical Damage $20,000 $1,000ded $1,080
    Total $1,706
Vehicle Type: Semi Truck, Radius of operations: Unlimited, VIN: ,
    Coverage Limit Deductible Premium
    Limit of Liability $1,000,000 $6,750
    Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist $100,000 $135
    Medical Payments $10,000 $130
    Personal Injury Protection $10,000 $135
    Cargo $250,000 $1,000ded $3,475

Pretty much! They said because of the ticket, and they are going up on their price It's ridiculous. Only other that gave me a quote back was Berkshire Hathaway but it was 50k. I did a rigquote estimate the other night and am going to try it out but I am very skeptical. Looks way too good to be true

And you can write all of it off!!! My mentor told me when I first started. You can either get bent over by the insurance company for a couple years or you can get bent over by the mega carriers for a couple years. I'm definitely choosing the former!
