Interesting. I've done two of them and haven't seen that happen. I guess it's still running ok with the a/c compressor engaged and condenser fan running? Seems like that would hit the engine just as hard as a high inverter load, pointing to a voltage drop across a bad main power terminal or connection. On all three of my Tri Pacs the install job was sub-par cable terminal crimps to begin with, and only got worse with age. My first guess would be an issue with batteries/cable ends. If yours still has the 50A maxi fuse in the engine compartment (alternator B+ to microprocessor board), that's another potential sore spot. It's pricey (what isn't?), but TK sells a fusible link kit to replace that.

Go to an alternator shop or shop online. I paid 150.00 installed in less than 1/2 hr

Had this happen to me once in a Columbia the tripac alternator had gone out and the blower motor was running off the batteries and draining them
-
I'm getting alt code after I replaced a broken belt, can the broken belt damaged the alternator? The APU runs from 4 to 5 minutes and then shuts down with the code "alt". Please help.
-
Check the voltage and make sure none of the wires are not broken.
-
Check the alternator and make sure is not frozen/stuck why the belt broke in the first place.
-
Thanks I replaced it and is up and running
-
Glad you got it fix. Most likely alternator got stuck and belt broke so ehen you replaced the belt it still won’t turn and throwing the alt error code.

I have a 2011 TRI PAC and just got a new alternator out in it and just use it for the first time after getting the alternator replaced. So I ran it for about an hour and the it turned off and said alt on the panel. So I noticed when the battery falls below 12.8v it turns off! So can anyone tell me what the problem could be.

Sounds like you either got a bad alternator, or it is not connected, and when you are running the TriPac it is running off of your batteries.
