2011 Maxxforce Prostars, good / bad, what to look for?

I've had mine for 2 years now besides basic maintenance I haven't done no major maintenance to it! I love the truck it runs good motor is quiet and it pulls one time I pass a guy driving a Pete and he gave me the finger when I pass him!? LOL... Yes don't let the Haters put you down every engine had their share of problems I've heard horrible stories about the Cummins, Detroit, paccar and the maxxforce being the worst?? Lol I say if you take care of your truck the truck will take care of you! I wouldn't mind buying another one! 2 years and the truck is running fine! Yea it might not have power pulling on the hills but that don't bother me I'm not trying to race no one! I'm just trying to do my job! I'm glad there's people out there with maxxforce actually doing it! I think they just over exaggerated on the problems because it was new when it came out and no one had the knowledge to work on them! Everyone was just use to the old trucks! #### for the price their going for I'll take another maxxforce!

 

I've been driving them for two years with no problems either! Once you figure them out, it's as good as any truck. I agree, take of your truck and it will do you good!

 

I also believe If you stay on top of maintence then it can be a good truck. I just purchased a 15 and haven’t driven it far yet but did my egr coolers under warranty last week and replaced an alternator that had signs or being on its last legs. The truck is quiet, rides better than freightliners and is roomy. I don’t feel like I’ll hsve any issues out of it for the year to come. If you keep the dpf on it just know egr coolers most likely will have to be replaced every 250k

 

I Don't get why people bash on them?? There not that bad at all... I've been making money on mine and still running strong! But in a way I'm glad people don't like them.! Lol... They become cheaper for me to buy more! Lol... I stay on top of my maintenance and truck runs fine! I have a 2011 prostar with a 13 speed yes its a maxxforce and I'm pretty impress by its performance! Yes I know I won't beat a Cummins or a Detroit but like I mentioned I'm here to make money and to do the job safe! Every truck has their issues I've heard the same issues on any other engine! I have a buddy that has 12 prostar with a maxxforce and a 2012 pete 379 with Cummins and he said he has invested more money on the Pete than he does with the international! "May the Force be with you" lol
