26,000 lb. Regulations

    Dual wheel or single wheel does not matter as long as the gross vehicle weight of the truck is under 26000 pounds.

    As long as the GVW of the truck and trailer is under combination is under 26000. But if your GVW is under 26,000 how are you going to haul anything?

    No, total weight is 36000 lbs. Class C only allows up to 26000 total weight. 26001 and up require Class A

    Your wrong actually. Well unless in California.
    You can do 36,000 and not even need a CDL, much less a class A. 26,000 for the power unit and 10,000 for the trailer. One pound over on either will require a CDL though. Go read the requirements and then follow a flowchart in just about every CDL manual.

    Just skimmed through this a bit, isn't there a combined length restriction as well?
