Hey Dragon, Wayne is doing good. He will be in Kingman today for a few hours so we get to go see him. They will have good miles this week. About 7000 or so. Their DM has had them a load ready and waiting for them a couple days before they dropped the one they had. They are on their way back from Dallas right now. They will drop this load in Cali and then back to Yuma for another pick up. As long as the truck keeps going, they are good.....lol....What have you been up to? You still at the casino? Maybe you should check and see if pepsi is still hiring? I haven't checked but i know there are no locals hiring. Only thing you see is OTR.

Novoids, As a student you will make hardly any money for around 6 weeks! When your with a trainer you do get paid........Not sure exactly how much but I think it is around $450.00 first week, $450.00 week 2, and then $500.00 a week for the last two weeks.

Remember it costs money to live on the road even if your lucky enough to get a trainer with a microwave and coffee maker.

The first month its really tight.

After you finish training it will depend on load planners and DM's on how much money you can make obviously miles equal money :biggrin_25525:. OH I almost forgot and you.

Freight is slow now for most Companies, including Central, even L/O are having to push for miles in this economy.

Drivers are getting less miles, but all companies are the same right now.

If you could do an outside school you would be better off. There are many companies out there that will repay most if not all your loan if you work for them for a certian amount of time. Most people do Central due to lack of money then get stuck in the Central game. To find your place takes time and can cost you money also think teaming with another driver they get the most miles. As for the right choice you wont know that for awile. What works for 1 dosen't always work for another. Best of luck to ya.

    novoids,

i wouldn't touch a companies training program unless you could pay it. This way you avoid owing them money in case you quit, or get fired. If you sign a contract and either of those happen, you will in a hole.

If you attend an outside school, you a) get to choose who you want to work for, b) aren't in debt to a company c) can move after x amount of months.

i been on the road for 2 weeks now with my trainer, and i added up how much i spent during the class time to now and i was amazed. the best thing to do if your light on money is to catch a walmart run and pick up some pbj, bread, ramone noodle cups.

and square away things on the home front before u leave. i had to sell my beloved pickup during schooling to help with bills and to have some pocket money.

now on the road im with a O/O and he has it all. fridge, microwave, tv, dvd, etc. but some like my last trainer live from truck stop to truck stop. so again pick up some cheap and simple food. just because he can afford it doesnt mean u can. any questions feel free to pm me.

and i think the training pay is 425,425,525,525(im not too sure)

Driving for Central living in Georgia. How hard would it be to get a load home? Thinking about applying to them. Need some input on these guys.

6pak is absolutely right!! You go to there school, you will be driving for Central for 1 yr to pay of the school OR walking away owing them money, We have two problems with Central and that is load planners giving far to much time on a load and not enough miles.
