We have those OmniTrac units in the exempt units, they work well enough to track the HOS. No "cheating" with these devices, if you want to call doing your job cheating. It is already here.

2012-2015 were the most problematic years for the ISX15.RustyBolt and Justrucking2 Thank this.

And that would be the CM-2250 and CM-2350. Exploding fuel pumps and high compression, both lead to premature engine failure. Very expensive motors to own, and very problematic.

One could conclude by reading all of it, that buying old trucks - 20 year oldies, most of them in their coffins already, and making them vivid zombies is a better way to go.

that is the exact vibe i'm getting sifting through the noise. Although I don't see a lot of feed back from newer 2017/2018 models in terms of reliability from the emissions system. Perhaps the MFRs have figured it out.

I can tell you that in 2014 Freightliner changed the one box emissions system and it's easier on maintenance and repair. My truck has over 500,000 miles and according to FL dealer it's the original one box . I'm not a gear head but can change belts alternators and starters so for me a newer truck fits my needs .BoostedTeg Thanks this.

They may have it figured out for now but the EPA will probably want stricter in a few years or less and screw everything up for 10 years again.

Evidently many didn’t.

My ELD hooked up and worked with no issues on my 96 Series 60 in a 2016 Pete glider. I like my carrier too much to leave just because they required using one to continue being contacted to them.magoo68 Thanks this.
