Drifted high outlet will cause NOx efficiency codes also. Failing DEF doser/DEF volume output @ DEF doser will cause same fault.

Attached is my nox outlet sensor. Anyone have a cummins cross over # for this? Also does this seem to be a factory sensor or even the correct one?

I have had no luck crossing the numbers. Too many supersession on the part numbers. Leave it too the parts guys. Dont be surprised if your new part is different , there is multiple cord lengths for the same sensor type. Make sure the connector ends match. Black or grey to match the plug. They are blind but you can force the wrong one on. IE inlet on the outlet. That will really mess you up. When you pick up the parts identify inlet from outlet and write it on the box and they dont say. The inlet is usually wrapped in foil where the outlet is not.

Cummins P/N is right on it. 2872236 which supercedes to a 2894944RX. Quick check of price @ my local Pete dealer was 376.61with $88.00 core. Cut wires=no core.

Installed the outlet nox sensor today. I also dropped the scr catalyst down and did a visual inspection (no face plugging seen)I posted pics of the inlet side of the scr (everything looks good to me). I also posted a pick of the outlet side of the doc (looks good as well). I will run the truck this week and see if any codes return. Lmk what how you think the scr looks from the pics. There is a small amount of dried def around the rim of the scr and doc (see pics ) scr inlet.JPG scr inlet 2.JPG doc outlet.JPG .
    Thank you

Do those pics of my scr and doc look okay? Should I be worried about that little dried up def around the rim?

    Thank you

I would not be worried about the amount of dried DEF I see in the photos. If indeed the outlet NOX was biased high the dosing rate could have been much higher than it should have needed trying to drive it back down to zero. This could lead to what you are seeing. But I have seen much worse for buildup of DEF.

There is no usable photos in regard to the condition of either catalyst as you can't see the media itself only the metal screens.

    Kawi027 and spsauerland Thank this.

Looks absolutely normal with some crystalized DEF. Like @Goodysnap said can't see much of catalysts. Need to shine bright light in there and check for build up on the faces of the catalysts.

    Goodysnap and Kawi027 Thank this.
