    I pulled a 35' trailer today

first time ever (tandem axles, super singles in fact)

with a huge ### (very comfortable) sleeper KW T680

No, that doesn't make much sense to me either, but I'm just a dumb truck driver.

Could be worse. You could’ve had to pull a pup with that sleeper and have a bunch of backing to do.

used to do that, never thought it was all that hard. (freightliner cascadia, 5' sleeper)

    the pup makes it easy

the other guys would ##### about hooking sets, "oh, this thing is as big as a house, there's no room here (in a terminal, puhleeze)

ummmmmm, maybe you guys better not do food service, cuz this is EASY.

Backing pups with a sleeper is a trick if you’re not used to that.

Backing pups period is tough when you're not used to that.

The worst is the tree trimming crews pulling wood chippers behind their boom trucks. By the time you see the chipper in either mirror, it’s too late.

A long box would make me look like a rookie backing into a dock nowadays. Don’t remember the last time I’ve pulled a 53’ trailer. Would definetly put a post note on my windshield if I ever pull one that reminds me I don’t have a set lol.

I pull 53 footers once on a while. My barn is near Wabash, so new trailers go there for distribution. They're mostly pups, but sometimes I'll pull a long box out on its way to assignment at a specific yard.

Lately I've been getting new Hyundai 53's headed east out of California at my meet and turn. A lot of those are transfers for other carriers and done up in their livery. I saw one of our guys pulling an Estes trailer the other day. I wish I had gotten a picture. I would have totally started a rumor about a merger.

The genius in our office wanted me to pick up 18000 lbs of hazmat consisting of one UN number 30 miles away after getting empty, and then didn’t have a clue when I told him I needed ID placards for that which I didn’t have. :banghead:
