Not really sure I follow. Is it just a month of lots of DOT inspections? Whats TA have to do with it?

You shouldn’t keep your equipment in excellent condition because the law or the inspector said so. You keep your stuff in good condition because is the right thing to do, period !!!!!Buster Churry, Wingnut1, Justrucking2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think chimbotano's comment is exactly right, if you know it's damaged and inspection week IS coming up why even debate it? Just get a new housing and fix it, or have a shop fix it, probably won't cost as much as the collection of tickets might after the officer see's that and really puts the rest of the truck under a microscope.. That's the point of the TA inspections right? To find and fix things before THEY find and fine you for them....LOL!
I was listening to Road Dog the other day and they had a DOT cop on who said that statistically the number of inspections that week only goes up 3% nationwide but it sure seems like more than that. He said they were going to go hard on brakes and tires this year....(word to the wise) -
My understanding is that they will be hitting HOS this year

If you don't like it, refuse to take it. -
