NEW RAND MCNALLY 740 COMING IN MAY

I keep mine at the top of the windshield. 50,000 miles and it hasn’t fallen once.

 

GregD I had this issue to. I call RM tech support & got a fix.
1nd backup all files before trying any type of fix.
Now the fix plug the unit into your computer.
Files to open in order are.
this pc
the 740 file on my computer page
internal storage
.Navi
User
Now you should see User ini & UserGPS ini files; delete those 2 files. Don't worry they will rebuilt.
unplug unit & reboot

Well spoke too soon I turned it on the next day and it did the same.. not responding.., message rendering the unit unusable. Deleted the address book and unit is working. I'm thinking when the files repaired themselves is why it didn't fix??. I guess I'm going to have to manually insert 5 years of addresses and notes ugh
