this is my grandpa's rig, 75 diamond reo, 350 cummins and 13 speed with a 36" sleeper, shown in this picture of a picture is it attached to a pnuematic that was leased from universal transport. I do believe that he bought it in 76, my dad tried to get him to buy the raider model, but my grandpa fell in love with this one. my grandpa is also responsible for the black paint w/ white pinstriping, and was complimented often on it. he also built the fenders on it. my dad got to drive it to high school a couple of times. (how cool would that have been?)
he started driving in the 50's and supposably pulled one of the first milk trucks in colorado. but had to leave trucking before i was born due to health problems. the last we heard the reo was in a junkyard in cheyenne after pulling a dump for many years. wish i knew if there was still anything left of it. i would be all over it like a fat kid on a candy bar.
pic of my grandpa's reo- thought i would share.

I had a 70 cabover REO with 335 Cummins, 5speed tranny, 3 speed rear ends. It would run a hole in the wind on flat ground, didn't pull too bad. Had to watch pyrometer though, it was turned way up and would get hot quickly.
