Probably man was begging on intersection and truck was on his way to take money from left lane traffic. When light turns green the man decided to run back under truck. Have seen this in SLC.

Next someone will try to race under the wheels of a train as it passes.
Come on YOU TUBE!! -
My first thought. Why do companies have to pay for natural selection.buddyd157 Thanks this.

It could have easily been a child, so the standard reply is that driver ought to be watching what's going on around his trailer...
But, I wouldn't want to fault the driver specifically for it. I am of the opinion that it people traveling on foot should generally not have to contend with major hazards: There is too much mixing of people on foot with cars & trucks, major roads should not be easily accessible on foot, grade-separated pedestrian crossings should be frequent and built at ground-level.
It's our self-centeredness in general which ought to be called into question. We like to move around the country, anywhere, at a high rate of speed, but we don't really want to pay what it should realistically cost for the privilege, and it's simple and easy to demand the cheap solutions that come with externalized liabilities. -
I traveled other countries and some the people walk in the roads and somehow are still alive. Freaked me out when sitting in passenger seat watching but somehow many of them people make it alive, but they have always done that so they know the game. This country is just starting to find out what crowding is like, we have a new country still and are still learning. We need to remove all false protections for fools and start making folks learn that they are responsible for their own well being. The driver has to have eyes always moving even when stopped but seeing that split second when someone makes a mistake will be very lucky.Trucker61016 Thanks this.

My sympathy is largely with the children, elderly, drunks, and fools randomly stumbling around on foot on the road. It annoys me greatly when they get in my way... But, the roads are not a "natural" hazard (a man-made problem introduced with the automobile and greatly exacerbated by cellphones and personal irresponsibility), they are an incredible hindrance and a burden to pretty much anyone that doesn't drive (and occasionally even to drivers who do so because it has been made the only practical means to get around), and fooling around on foot in public spaces really should not be the sort of thing that we ought to be punishing with injury and death (which effectively is the one-sided justice that gets dealt when the supposedly responsible drivers act in an equally negligent and careless manner)Trucker61016 Thanks this.

US 41 is a circus. I have come up on bozos on mopeds at 3 in the morning with no lights. The interstate dumps you off in Henderson and for a mile it's like Las Vegas. Lit up everywhere with restaurants and car dealers. Then you cross the old bridge and get into perpetual construction in Evansville , or divert miles away and hit the interstate. They make so much revenue it will never be bypassed.Last edited: Jun 2, 2018

So?
You know what happens to stupid children? They grow up to be stupid adults if they don't get culled from the herd. Stupid adults are expensive.
Trucker61016, Trucking in Tennessee and uncleal13 Thank this. -
Looks to me like they grow up, fail to realize that they merely got away with it every time when making stupid & reckless choices (probably continuing do to so in various ways which probably get omitted from the semi-anonymous Internet commentary), and decide that they're somehow qualified to pass judgment when others act rashly and get hurt or killed as a consequence.

We all make mistakes, have done dangerous actions and survived kind of, As we get older sometimes our minds think we can because we did it hundreds of times, then your body does not work as before and you are stuck under a trailer with leadfoot at the wheel....oops.
