Call receiver for directions cause the address aint on gps but its easy getting to. They didnt seem to be concerned about appointment times. They were unloading first come first serve. I think I was there an hour early and was empty in about an hour and a half.
My load was non hazmat totes. They werent filled to capacity so they were sloshing around and gave a good amount of surge. If you never drove a tanker it might hit you by surprise. Nothing to worry about really just gives a wtf was that feeling every once in a while. Just take your turns a bit slower and try and brake more smoothly if you want to reduce the surge.Last edited: Jun 1, 2018
Ray Strack and ncmickey Thank this. -
Yeah, it was a good spot. Probably would have loaded early if I was able to get all the info sooner but my time I did it didnt make a difference. Definitely feeling the surge, no biggie though, Ive done tanker loads before. Thanks for the heads up on the finale!

Yes yes yes! I can thank Tony!
Tony has all along, urged me to go with and make my food grade bulk pneumatic tanker work. In his words, it’s just plain a great job. It’s a better job than reefer. ... I have to agree. I really love my job, but...
My terminal manager pulled another one. To make a long story short. I’m in the process of transferring to under a Manager in Texas. I’ll be based out of Dodge City Kansas. But running more OTR nationwide.
Talked with new manager this morning. He told me my situation is stupid. He’d be happy to have me. We are trying to dump a ND run right now. Have me do another to Tennessee. Then he wants me to help in Ohio. I said fine with me. He’ll work out home time for me. I’m all in agreement. Easy on the home time. Just work out what he wants. He’s happy as can be with me. This is the first time I’ve had any idea where I’d be going after a run. Said he can get me 3500+ miles a week. But it’s OTR. Fine with me. Said he’s hired 4 other drivers out of Denver for same reasons. I feel like it’s Christmas again. Overjoyed right now. And I can thank Tony enough for urging me not to give up. Stick with it and try to make it work somehow. Tony has always thought of my best interests first.
Oh, and, my new boss is going to try to keep me in my new Volvo. If he can’t. He’s got 15 new trucks coming.
The new Manager thinks nationwide. Not just one terminal.
I is happy as a cold pig in warm mud right now! Confident and hoping it’s going through ok. He’s working on it today. Wants me to head for Dodge tomorrow, then...dedrouteCO and Ray Strack Thank this. -
Sounds like a good gig. Stay head strong, first year is the roughest, and it onlu gets easier every day.
mitrucker and WesternPlains Thank this. -
Dang, ive been running my butt off on this load. Run down the clock, do a 10, run it down again. 130 miles away and had to push back the apt. Feeling like it was setup to fail out the gate.
Lowlite Thanks this. -
Had to do a pu/drop in Bismarck...at the pu now and headed to Fargo to get into the shop and get my PM B done and and annual DOT..then picking up in Park Rapids and then off to Hotlanta.
Ray Strack and Xeres63 Thank this. -
Anyone know of a truck stop that sells tandem axle stoppers? I managed to break mine. Half tempted to see if #10 rebar would work better.
