I've been meaning to post here forever:
In October 2016 I got a ticket for being in the third lane from the right. This was on I-5, going up into the mountains, north of Castaic. There were a bunch of slow trucks and a Greyhound bus in the right two lanes, and I didn't even know about this law (there are no three lane highways where I went to school) so I made the pass and got pulled over and ticketed right away. I went to Jason Miller (Traffic Tickets and Driving Privileges Attorneys of Southern California | Fix-A-Ticket) and the court date kept getting rescheduled, in July 2017 the date finally came and the ticket was dismissed entirely.
That's the one moving violation that I've been up against and the only time in almost two years of driving now that I've ever been pulled over. $400 to keep my MVR clean, definitely worth it.Rubicon Thanks this. -
I despise drivers who run the middle lane all the time. If you must, it's ok to run the middle lane sometimes, but if you see a truck coming up behind you, get over and let them by.
If you're driving your slow governed truck in the middle lane, how am I supposed to pass you? I'm not allowed in the far left lane, and I'm technically not allowed to pass you on the right. I usually end up passing on the right, because you are less apt to get a ticket for that than you are running in the far left restricted lane. Matter of fact, lots of times the right lane moves better because all the slow trucks seem to want to run the middle lane.Rubicon Thanks this. -
I just got pull over on i80 going east bound where 65 goes to roseville there's 5 lanes but only 3 go to Reno so I got on the 3rd lane and I saw all this stupid cars trying to cut the line to go to the 65 so I jump to the 4th lane when i was about to cross the stupid pickup behind me try to pass me thru my left hand side and he cut on front me cause he could pass cause the other drivers were trying to go cut the line so I had do a sharp move to jump on the hov lane I was there for last then a minute and a high way patrol pull me over I explained to him but he still gave me a ticket for driving on the hov lane could some one help me to find a good attorney that could help me

What? Brales didn't work?
You were in a restricted lane. You got caught.
If you don't want a restricted lane ticket, stay out of the restricted lanes.
This is not a hard concept folks.TROOPER to TRUCKER and hagarcobra Thank this. -
Have video of it? If you have a good judge he may side you. Was trying to avoid creating a accident? And help keep everyone safe. Stange how you can get out of a speeding ticket for equipment malfunction but trying to stay safe, keep other safe, and help others around you not so much even with video.Rubicon Thanks this.

Because most judges are aware that it's safer to slow down and increase following distance than be in a restricted lane....

I do agree. What if you forced to do it? Some one cut you off (provided it was just random) and instead of slamming the brakes and getting rear ended you notice the left lane was open so it was much safer and easier to move there. Then when you want to move back some one decided they wanted you spot and now you have do go down the road a bit to get back in.Rubicon Thanks this.

It would have to be a truly extraordinary set of events that would mean swearving is safer. Swearving is never safe and usually the time to determain if it's the least unsafe maneuver the issue has passed.
As for then, well you will be the 1,000,000 in 1 truck to actually have a legitimate reasion to be in the lane. Well do you really expect the cop to belive you? -
Try googling a lawyer in the same county where your ticket was issued. You're not the first one in that sort of pickle. Never pay the ticket directly to the court.
