Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, if not please direct me!
My husband and I are moving to TX from Las Vegas so he can start his masters program at Texas A&M. We have 5 dogs so an RV is really the only way we can all travel together, the issue is my husband is a disabled vet and cannot drive that long of a distance.
We have been trying to find someone to drive an RV (that we pay for) for us with us in the RV too. Of course said person would be compensated. It would only be about 5 days.
Please, if anyone knows of someone, or a company, or a better fourm? It would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
M Nelson

QuietStorm, Jazz1 and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
You could probably find an older person that would be interested in taking that job for you.
A truck driver is gonna do that in 2 days.
You're asking someone to kill a lot of time so that you can sight see.. understandable.. it's your dime.
But, figure on about $1000 wages, plus expenses... and how will they get home ?
Be careful whom you choose.
Lots of nut bags out there.
Do a proper background check.QuietStorm, Mrsn05 and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Why don't you rent a large van? Might be cheaper and you could drive it, or him maybe. Check rates with Hertz, etc.

Thanks all for the responses! I love the "we're the millers ." Pretty much lol.
I understand it's a lot to ask, there's a bit more to it, that would make it all make sense, but I didn't want to write a novel.
We would happy pay a trustworthy person very well. And if they could get us there in 2 days we certainly wouldn't complain, the reason I said a week is bc you have to rent those RVs for a minimum amount of nights and return it. If they got us there faster and returned it faster we'd still be very happy to pay the same price.
Are there any other forums or groups that you would reccomend? -

The HQ for the Escapees RV club is 102 miles from Texas A &M. Maybe one of their members can help.
Also, what date do you want to leave etc.?
I know a young guy in his 20's that can handle an assignment like that, but he lives in Dallas area. You would have to fly him to Vegas, then drop him off in Dallas. He could get you from Las Vegas to Dallas in 2 days or less. He's works at a Whole Foods Market and is a Lyft driver on the side. He's given me a ride home from day surgery recently .Last edited: Jun 3, 2018

This guy has an Austin Texas area code. That is not too far from Bryan. -
Go up to the local VFW hall and ask around. You have networking resources, use them!
Also, you might have better luck going up to the humane society and getting in touch with some rescue groups. It's not really their specialty to move 5 dogs, but they might be able to help point in the right direction.
