With no experience driving or sand you’ll have a tough time finding anything other than companies like Stevens transport
Frac sand opportunity, too good to be true?

I wouldn't go back to work for less than $2800.00 per week. And it would have to pretty much be guaranteed which isn't going to happen so I think I'll stay where I'm at.

I have no oilfield experience. But I have a year of OTR. Stevens pretty much my only option or is there somewhere else a girl could try. Willing to haul water or sand, whatever it takes. I know I need to get my foot in the door. My goal in to haul crude oil. I could be mistaken but isn't that where the money is hauling crude oil?Last edited: Jun 3, 2018
Bookhacker Thanks this. -
There is money everywhere right now because people were burned so bad last time they are not going back to oilfield.
Demand for CDL drivers is really high. Companies now have to really run legal with ELDs and legal weight loads. Smaller companies still running non ELD using 100 air mile exemption And are few.
If you want to stay in liquids then yes crude is the high point and will still always run because they aren’t going to run pipelines from all wells to the collection points.
Get the experience from the companies that will hire non experience then go from there. Call around to all Craigslist and indeed postings and ask if they’ll take no experience and 1 year drivingBgroxie and MagnumaMoose Thank this. -
No experience means nothing in the same game. Join a FB West Texas group.

New drivers pay attention, oilfield is a good way to lose your CDL, or damage your driving record to the point where you're unemployable. Getting pushed to operate illegally is commonplace, and like the OP says, it's all on the driver. Hmmm, maybe that's the real reason you see so many jobs posted.EuropeanTrucker and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Good luck trying to do oilfield service work with an ELD, I'm sure the service companies are very understanding when you tell them you just houred out.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Most service co. employees no longer drive the trucks after they get them to location. They use 3rd party logistics/drive-away outfits to move the equipment on the highways.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

You'll learn the hard way like thousands before you.
Trust me I live down here in Texas.
I've seen more oilfield workers evicted than anybody else.
Do these 3 things and you'll be alright.
Don't buy anything you have to make a payment on.
That includes a home or vehicle.
Save every penny you can to cover the pink slip that
That you won't see coming.
Be prepared to live like a wild animal in a piece of
Junk truck or filthy man camp.
If your single don't waste your money renting a house
Or apartment. your company could lose thier contracts
They day after you move in and the next good job is
100 miles away.
Buy a cheap rv so you can pick up and go at anytime.
Be prepared to run outlaw and put your CDL
On the line.
If your not willing to do this then let the company know
Beforehand. Saves you from getting fired 2 weeks later.
If you see the town your working in or living in
Start to empty out.
That means the good times are over.
Dust off your resume and start job searching.amsn and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
I'd bet every penny I had that if you took 2 students
Straight out of truck driving school.
One goes to the oilfield and one goes to swift.
In 10 years the driver at swift will have more money,
More retirement, better quality of life, stability, health insurance, and a whole lot more perks for sticking
Around that long.
That guy in the oilfield might go thru 40 different
Companies in that same time. Doesn't get any of the
Perks for longevity.alexander11727 Thanks this.
