Are you guys good compliant drivers and log on duty the whole time or do you run off duty/sleeper while getting loaded? Maybe you do 1 hour on duty then go to OD/SB until they finish loading or unloading your 3 pallets for 6 hours. What do you do?

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

You are allowed to be on line 1 or 2 at a customer if that's where you actually are. Any act of checking in, signing paperwork, being on the dock counting freight, etc. is line 4. Lots of times you are told to wait in your truck for a green light or until the pager goes off or they come get you.
If you want to burn endless hours at docks then feel free to put it on line 4.

5 minutes on duty the rest off duty... if you are not inside physically helping to unload you can log it off duty I usually will show between 3 and 5 minutes on duty if I don't need them for moronic half hour break. .... 3 pallets in 6 hours ? when was appointment time

I'm on line 4, unless I'm about due for a 30 min break in which case I'll get that knocked out. No real reason not to be on line 4 as the regulations state, as I only typically work 40-45 hours per week as it is.

If you want to burn your time up log it as on duty, otherwise if you are hungry and need to put miles on since the company only pays mileage log only the time to dock and deal with paperwork.

I'm an outlaw I checked in at the gate on duty for 5 mins than noted I dropped the trailer I went to off duty PC. Than I proceeded to drive to the dock and backed my trailer into the dock. Now I sit in the sleeper. While I'm on PC. Somebody needs to stop my unruly behavior.

lol ..... I am ascared to log in the sleeper because my qualcom is up front so I change the duty status in the drivers seat and if I log in to sleeper when I am actually in the drivers seat I am ascared because if a dot seen me he could give me a ticket for a false log

I always log sleeper berth while waiting. Show 10 minutes or so for checking in, then go to sleeper berth.

I actually just show off duty always unless I need to do a split sleeper which is very rare
