evertruckerr, you have an amazing talent of informing the readers of the daily life of a driver. tho i must say that so far from what i have read of your thread you seem to be able to keep a very open mind and a optomistic view of things in relation to the economy and the industry, which i do believe is a rarity.

    evertruckerr Thanks this.

All new hires cannot bring a pet onboard. Crete wants to be pet free.:biggrin_25510:

Knighton5 already hit the pet question. Only current drivers with pets are grandfathered in, and that was only after a mass exodus of pet owners when the original policy was put into effect that everyone would have to get rid of their pets.

Experienced drivers with at least one years exp do not have to run with a trainer. The only exception would be for drivers that have been away from driving for an extended period of time, although I'm not sure what the exact pentameters are. When I hired on I had been out of a truck for over a year and was able to jump into my own truck without running with a trainer.

The experienced drivers that are required to run with a trainer are not put there to learn how to drive. Crete knows they can drive a truck. They just want to teach them the dispatch system and of course, running 100% legal at all times. Most experienced drivers tend to be a little rusty along those lines.

Good luck with Crete and if you have any specific questions you can send a PM to me via any Mod. Just send it to them and ask them to forward it to me.

Thank you! I'm just trying to give a little insight into what life is like out here on the road in somewhat of an entertaining way. Unfortunately I've been slacking in my duties of late.

It looks like I will have some extra time on my hands to catch up. I'm making it my goal to finish all of Decembers updates and posting my year end spread sheet and final pay stub for the year by the end of tomorrow. Get this! My last attempt at getting home time found me on the road for nine weeks or so. I realize that it was due in large to weak freight and a large number of drivers that had priority over me because they were using their vacation time to get home for the holidays while I was simply relying on the hope that eight weeks out would facilitate my getting home for Christmas. (I'll use vacation time next year).

Anyway, my trainee had planned on staying out for 8 weeks straight to get his training over as soon as possible. But by the time he hit 4 weeks he had a change of hart and wanted to stop by the house to see the wife and kids (who could blame him). I told him that with such short notice it might take a little while to get him home, but I said I would do what I could for him. I contacted the training department and 6hrs later we put in an MT call and what do you know. A load going to NC and a day later he is sitting at home and I'm stuck here out of hours and doing a 34reset. I don't mind the reset one bit, I haven't stopped moving since leaving PHX on the 5th, but I sure would like to get that kind of response when I put in for home time. I guess it has been know to happen, just not so recently.

It sure is nice to have my truck back to myself, that's for sure. Not to mention I am no longer in Boston. #### cold up in those parts, not that I'm in the middle of a heatwave here in NC, but the mid 20s kicks butt over the sub zero stuff they are getting up there.

As far as the optimistic thing goes, I've found that life is much more palatable when you choose it over pessimism. I've tried both. Go with the happy, jolly outlook and enjoy life is my point of view.

Just think about this anytime you are feeling like things aren't going your way. One any given day, 70% of the worlds population goes to bed (those that have one) hungry. Who are we to complain about anything.

I've been wondering what happened to her myself. Hopefully she has the same excuse that I did. Too busy!

Don't you love those 2k runs!
