    Turbo's right, Aussie.

Demand that this BS be corrected posthaste. Do not let them get away with it. The lowlife companies win when you do.

It will be done!! I wonder how many others are ignorant of what has been placed on their records? In this instance, I thank this site for giving me the knowledge on how to obtain my records as I had no idea prior to first visiting this site that I could obtain the DAC. It should be mandatory that a company hiring should provide a copy of the latest DAC to a new employee to be able to challenge any false reports and then provide again a month later to ensure nothing new had been added - wishful thinking at this point.

FAR too many, and others will not take the time to fight to have false information removed. The companies and DAC banks on the odds that the driver will not know the process, and that he or she is sure not informed of their rights in that regard.

They are like any other credit reporting agency. Their bread and butter comes from the companies that utilize their services, and to them, a driver is a pest, and that's exactly how they will treat one too.

The quickest way to get them off their butts, is to let them know that you are not misinformed, and that you know good and well what the law states and how it is to be handled.

It's getting better. You are entitled to one free report each year, and at times when you have made challenges to your report, once it has been corrected, and when you have been turned down for a job, based on information that has been cited in a report.

Do you kow just how crappy USIS/DAC is? They actually coerce their customers to NOT inform a driver that they have been turned down because of information contained within the report. Why? Because they detest with every breath, having to part with a copy for free.

They have long since hidden the tips section of their site behind the member's area, and I am tempted to revive my account for a little digging around, but that will have to wait for awhile. I've got too much on my plate at the moment.

Do you know how I have kept up with mine? I've been able to weasle out a copy of my report from the last three companies I've hired on with. I've never had any trouble getting them to let me copy the pages.

    It's saved me some stamps...

Thanks for the support, as I said Werner has a lot of positives I will give them credit for that but after the whole 8+ month ordeal and legal proceedings in the future I don't think I will ever work for another big company and actually trucking has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I just want to get back to work. My question is how many people get fired over a $4,700 damage accident due to hitting black ice with no priors, no warnings, no write ups and ticket dismissed by the DA in court?

    Good luck in your search

one thing i would like to ask you is Did your Truck come with a Eaton VORAD (Vehicle on board Radar) that has 2 sets of lights 1 in the dash and 1 on the passenger side door with 3 lights that beeps when you get to close to Traffic?

IF you truck had one of those they can pull information from your Truck's Black box to Reconstruct the Accident because the Vorad tracks upto 50 objects at a time and their distance and relation to you,

My question is how close to that other traffic were following and what speeds were you traveling in those conditions?? those are major factors
and if your truck has that eaton vorad and its determined you were too close driving too fast for conditions then they had every right to fire you for Reckless driving..

Please dont take this post the wrong way im not trying to demean your situation.. just wanted to give you a bit of information about a pice of equipment your truck may or may not have had...

Second theres another post here where Turbo wrote a letter to USIS/Dac Services to request simplified instructions on Disputing discranpecies in your Dac report..to obtain a copy is simple you can send a writen request along with a copy of your Driverlicense and Social Security Card to dac

don't go back to werner, they are just being nice to you to save money. get what money you can get thru your lawyer and buy your own truck, you will probably have to as werner will take you,but you'lll be let go someway somehow, your lawyer will tell you that if he's really working for you. the only reason they want you back is they want to get even, its not personal really, just business factors,as soon as they think your working again they'll let you go for some reason.then you'll have that injury and wreck against you and you'll be black balled out of your career. I have seen this time and time again.

That is correct. At all passes requiring chains Werner has banks. You pick up what you need to go over and turn them in at another site on the other side, or keep them if you going back over. If you get to a bank and there are not enough, or any there, you need to wait for them.

Follow the law. Dispatch can't make you go over without them.

My recommendation for getting another trucking job: dispute your DAC. Do it through the channels. Get your DAC from USIS. Fill out the dispute form and send it in. When you apply for jobs tell them up front it is on your DAC and that you are disputing the claim. Most recruiters will listen to your side, then tell you right away if they can hire you.

In one of our most frustrating times with Werner we were putting in applications and calling recruiters when I found out I had a false claim on my DAC, from a company before I worked for Werner. Once I knew it and told people up front about it and that I was disputing it I had a whole lot more offers.

Honesty is the best policy, no matter what has happened to you.

chains dont make that much difference on black ice, in black ice the best thing to do is park, no load is too hot it won't cool off in a ditch
