    Ahhhh.
You will be given loose leaf. Lots of them!

The year and how many payments the 'previous' lessor(s) made will decide what your payments are.
I had a 387 Pete with 160k on it and my payments were $535 a week. Turns out I was the 3rd driver in the truck.
My friend got a brand new W9 (he got lucky) and his were $575.
That was back before they started having a big turnover.

Before I went for orientation I had spoken to the lease manager twice and specifically asked for a brand new truck, but when I got there they explained that they only had what was available on the lot.

Each truck will have a letter behind the #. When you pick out your truck, keep that in mind.

Each letter represents a driver that didn't make it. Last year when the fuel was sky high, we were seeing trucks out there with 60k miles on them and a "j" behind the # and that meant 10 drivers had already been in that truck.

Back in Sept I was a bit angry about something and I left. If I knew then what I know now, I'd still be there.
I just did a short, very disappointing stint with Crete. 1300 miles a week, Freightshakers that run 63mph, fuel solutions and routing.
    I really miss NCI now!

National carriers is a LEASING NIGHTMARE. everything bad you ever read about leasing a truck happens at national carriers. If you are willing to drive truck living off of nothing but $175 a week they allow you, and roll down the road just paying for truck most or many weeks go ahead. DRINK THE COOLAID! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, MAYBE YOU WON'T BE ONE THAT SAYS, SOME ONE TOLD ME SO! If you want to own a truck better to get job, save money and buy one you can drive to another company if the one you are with does not move you enough for you to profit too. IF YOU LEASE A TRUCK FROM NATIONAL CARRIERS THERE WILL BE WEEKS WHEN YOU GET NO PAY, BUT THE TRUCK MIGHT BE RAN ENOUGH FOR THEM TO GET THEIRS. THOSE "0" PAY WEEKS CAN SOMETIMES STRECTH INTO A MONTH, OR MORE. IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE? IN THIS ECONOMY? ARE YOU GOING TO BELEIVE ANYTHING SOME ONE SAYS THAT IS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF YOU? I am speaking from experience and not just my own. There are alot of Lease companies telling lies to make money off of your labor.

Well I've been with National since January and have completed my lease and am currently on my way to Dallas to turn in my truck!!! I will say one thing about it I made enough to be able to buy my own truck and not be broke and that is about the only good thing I can say about leasing. National did run the crap out of me and didn't care what I did log book wise but I have only been home for 18 days since January!!! I enjoyed working for National but will not be leasing my new truck on to them as to they have no North Carolina freight.

Whenever I drive through Liberal, all those fleabag motels are chuck full of NCI trucks. The drivers are standing around, shooting the bull, wiping the manure off their tennies onto their drive tires. Everyone of them are saying "Got me a load to NYC".

    x#1 Thanks this.

NCI doesn't have forced NYC but those guys should be wanting a load in that direction. 3 or 4 stops east with just 1 stop at Hunt's Point pays excellent money and if you're lucky and hit it on a Thursday you get the run from Jersey to Santa Clara, Ca.
Boy, I loved that run! BTW, never got manure on my shoes...:biggrin_25525:
