For a new truck company, what kind of niche market have the most availability, to keep the truck busy and money flowing? Reefer, flatbed etc?
What kind of loads are the most available?

Reefer.

I have no problem with my van or flat staying loaded.
-
You can usually use a reefer to haul the same loads as dry van as long as weight isn't a problem with the extra weight of a reefer.
cke Thanks this. -
Reefer and flat are the most common loads that I have seen. With a reefer you can haul almost anything, wether it needs temp control or not.

I reviewed the load boards for the areas I wanted to run to see what was most available. In my area it seems flatbed provides the most options.

What areas are you looking to run?
-
I was looking at the 4 Corners area - Durango, CO / Farmington, NM.

So for someone starting out in the business thats going to hire a driver, do you recommend a reefer inorder to stay busy? Ive read that those can give you lots of headaches and more responsibility if carrying something temp controlled.
-
I recommend you get out on the road for a few years.
Asking this question tells me you are clueless to what is really going on and and how to leverage your capacity to keep trucks moving.
So my advice is to get your CDL, get hired into a company and drive.Cattleman84 and Hurst Thank this.
