I've been living here in Germany for the past 7 years now, Germans tax rate is HIGH...very close to 50%, but they have very good benifits to compensate for the taxes. Your best bet would probably try to get in with AAFES or Uncle Sugar between the militay bases.

I don't know if they pay by the KM or hour but if I remember correctly truck speed is 80KMH max for trucks.
And they have these cool lights on the cab so the cops can tell if you're speeding just by looking to see if you have 1, 2, or 3 lights lit up.

    Germans are very structured (anal)
Not a place for your typical American

Although nothing compares to the 4 wheeler driving in Europe.
Those were some of the best times ever.

After seeing how its done there, I'd stay in US. Most countries are not as big as TX or even NM and the speed limit is written on the rear of the truck, most being 55 K. Roads are narrow and nothing like the US. If you drive anywhere except say Germany, you have to know French, Italian, and 2 German dialects. I'm married to an Italian and if you speak Italian in Rome, they can't understand you in Naples.

I wish I had an answer to that cuz I'm tired of answering that question. Yogi Berra

Do all European nations drive on the other side of the road? I'm not sure I'd even want to deal with adapting to that.

No, only England & Ireland (same island). The rest of Europe drive to the right just like us. I think the only other countries that drive on the left are Japan & Australia...not sure about that though.

Singapore does, and I think Hong Kong as well (or HK used to under British rule) and possibly South Africa?. I'm not sure how HK works now that it's under Chinese rule. :biggrin_2554:

Yeah my parents visited Ireland and it freaked them out just driving in a car. Not just because it's the other side of the road but also many of the roads are narrow.

As for Germany it might be neat to do that just because I'm half German. I also like their beer.
