Austin Texas Loop????????

    Instead of trying to build a super-highway boondoggle, how about if the state of Texas built an I-35 loop around Austin while there's still a place to do it. Would any of you drivers rather drive around the city instead of sitting downtown for an hour looking at the buildings?:biggrin_25510:

    That is the purpose of the tollway they built east of Austin. I want to say its Hwy 114. Its the one they wanted to name after Willie Nelson and he told them, he didn't want his name to be any part of that highway if it was going to cost money to drive on it. :yes2557:

    Yeah... The toll road runs from north of Austin, down the east side, and comes back onto 35 down near San Marcos. They're still working on it, though. Can't remember when it's due to be finished.

    You'd think the people who actually run the state would warm up to that idea. LOL

    Austin traffic simply sucks, almost as bad as Atlanta.
