The gravy boat is in the eye of the beholder... like beauty.
If running an extra 1,000 miles per week for an extra $150 is worth all the extra time and effort, go for it. -
Ok am I the only who thinks this is ### backwards thinking. I rather work smarter not harder. It's the, "oh let me work like a slave and have no life while making pennies (literally)" mentality that keeps this a basement dweller bottom feeder industry.
I make more than a lot in this industry but I'm not saying it to brag, I get mad at myself everyday and call myself an idiot because I have to put in almost 70 hours a week when a professional in the non trucking industry (white collar office job) makes the same working half that.diesel drinker and plankton Thank this. -
no, you're not the only one...I was thinking the same as I read through this thread. And claiming that one can make up for low mileage pay with accessory pay presumes that the company actuallly pays it all the time as promised. If you're pulling a van for a mega, trying to get your detention and other accessory pay can be worse than pulling teeth.

I'll take less cpm and more miles any day. The high cpm,.you'll probably get $1500-$2000 in one week, but that will probably be the only time you see that. $.40-$.50 cpm a steady 2500+ miles means steady money every week. Sometimes it's more about consistency.Zeviander Thanks this.

Hmmm.... -
If i were OTR yeah i would want consistent miles for sure over the higher cpm and no miles. -
Because usually white collar jobs assume a college degree and a brain activity, while trucking jobs thought of as a low class brainless people jobs, who could not do better with their lifes
-
Disagree it is how much you get paid. But you have to look at total pay vs time committed.
