Can anyone give me some advice or insight into Willie Shaw? I was offered a job with them today and was wondering what to expect during orientation. Also, do they require a Hazmat endorsement?

I've been talking to their recruiter about the Atlanta Regional fleet. They don't require hazmat, but having it pays 1 cpm more. The regional guys are home every 7-10 days, otr guys every 14 days. One thing I liked hearing was that they do express pay. You're paid for a load, once it's scanned in and received. That could make a difference to you, I don't know. And yes, this is for company drivers.

Thanks, Wayne. I filled out an on line application with them on Thursday, and got a phone call from Rona on Friday explaining the mileage pay and bonus pay that I would get with my experience. I was really excited and was asked if that was something that I might be interested in. I told her yes, she faxed me a complete app. and told me that she would process it, and when everything checked out I would be invited to orientation. I told her that everything will check out. I've been hauling cars for the same small company for the last 10 years so my employment is verifiable. No accidents, no tickets no, no, no, to all the questions. The only thing I need to do is speak to her about my DAC report. I ordered my report and got it right before Christmas and because I work for a small mom and pop company, they don't report to DAC. The only thing that came back was an equipment ticket from VA in 1998, everything else came back no information on file. Do you think this might be an issue?

I wouldn't worry about that. Companies report to DAC, anything that they feel like. If you hvae nothing on your DAC report, that's a good thing.

Yes, a company their size knows that a small auto hauler is not normally a DAC subscriber so it will not count against you at all.
