Due to this ###### up economy i have to make a hard choice. I have been looking at a lot companies : Snl,crst, swift, stevens, ffe, and the list goes on and on applied to them all and was turned down from all of them was told due the falling economy they were unable to hire me. And the only company thats willing to take me on is ;crengland; im a lil scared after reading everything about them in this site.i have a start date for 2-9-2009 i really dont want to go with cre; but i have no choice and this is a hard choice. I need the experience (otr) what do should i do?

Just hire in as a company driver.

Ignore all request to do a lease.

How much are they gonna charge you for orientation ?
They wanted $550.00 for me to go with them..... tried to explain that no job meant no money. They said they would be "Happy" to finance this amount.
They are the only company I have seen that charges you for orientation.

you have to get your feet wet somewhere, and anyplace you go is going to suck to some degree. after you get 6 months to a year under your belt, the economy should be starting to come around (we all hope so anyways) and more opportunities should be available to you.

    good luck and be safe.

If you can consider moving, do it. Most those companies you mentioned and more are hiring every day, so it's gotta be your location.

I am absolutely ashamed of my brotha from N.Y..You oughta no better then this.We made every scam there is in NY.You of all people should smell a scam a mile away.Don't make ME come over there and slap ya.(lol)

There is no future in these driver mills..Let alone having to PAY these crooks. You will never make it on the ''wages'' they are going to give you for the 1st(6 months)..And living in N.Y. -NOOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYY..FORGETTTTAAAAA BOUT ITTTTTTTTTT

Do yourself a favor before you really get in a pinch and lose your A_A_Z_..leave your phone # in a private messege to me and we can talk about other options. There is alot of guys around N.Y. AND N.J. getting a C.D.L. AND ACTUALLY WORKING..Don't jump at this out of ''pure desperation'' like many do.DO MORE HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH AND EDUCATE YOURSELF MORE...

My own opinion is i would never get caught up in this ''scam'' today from these crooks.

The driver ''mill'' companies you mentioned should be your 100% last hope. There are other ways to get a C.D.L...

Now i may be wrong because i have been at this for 20 years and ran N.Y.C. FOR many years and got taught in N.Y..I also was lucky in alot of ways because i ''NEW'' PEOPLE.This may have changed alot. But again i would lift up every rock i could ,not to go to a driver mill...

Just my opinion..I hope i can help and learn too, just like you.

I will send you a link to 1,000 trucking schools in N.Y. around glendale....
I will even talk to my goomba'a and ask if there is another way for you.

    Hell it's worth a try...

If you think the economy is pushing you to the brink, just wait til CRE gets done with you. There has to be a better choice of companies that will accept you. Any company that charges me for orientation, will get the boot from my list.
