What the hell is causing freight rates to go down? Is it all the cheap labor flooding America? Is it greedy fleet owners willing to hire these guys that work for dirt so they get higher profit? Is it our govt not protecting the American worker by allowing third worlders in who are used to having to pick through garbage to eat? What the hell. A family member of mine who was an o/o used to haul gas at one time. He said a buddy of his still does, and he makes 1k less a week now then my family member did doing the same job 10 years ago.

Its jacked up. And I've been seeing a lot of candian trucks rolling on the interstates in jersey.

I live in Fla and dont run cheap freight. Thus,.. I dont run Fla. How ever,.. Between Trenton, Elizabethtown,.. Phili, Allentown, Greencastle, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Akron, Columbus, Gary, Schererville, Kankakee, Alsip, Chicago has been a goldmine for me with a plethora of very well paying loads. I havent been home since April for fear the rates will magically dry up,.. so cashing in while the spice is still flowing.

With the exception of a few odd loads here and there,.. I have not moved anything for under $3mi since March. With many in the $4 - $6mi range.

So not sure who you are talking to or imagining how cheap labor will effect truck rates,.. but for anyone not running record gross revenue right now,.. your doing something wrong.

I run hopper bottoms and mainly agricultural straight from the field.....corn, wheat, beans, taters, etc. They will take a school bus ....cut it into a flat bed and ride. Can't compete with that.
I gotta watch what I say out here . I dwell in the "sandbox" aka political section most of the time and they don't like us off the farm lol. Make a thread in there and you can speak freely but beware .....you gotta have thick skin

I've seen white hipsters and young rednecks doing the same thing. Probably comfortable,.. who knows.

I really doubt leg position or windows down with arm out,.. or hat on backwards,.. jeans or shorts,.. I doubt any of that will have an effect on rates.

Are you hauling special loads? Hazmat? Nuke? Explosives? Or you running regular ol truckload stuff?

I know contractors with ups are being paid roughly $1.20 a mile right now.

Lol. Yeah, lemme run a 60-80k# rig down the road without being in position to control it. Perfect.

Theres a reason they hang onto the side of buses and ride on the top of trains in these faraway lands.
