I was in Klamath Falls, OR for the better part of the day. Waiting for a load, so I decided to go for a bite....My GPS showed a truck stop on HWY97, Mollie's truck stop. Small, dont't look like much, parking lot not paved. But I was too hungry to be picky, so I went in.
First thing I noticed that bathroom is clean. Old, but clean. Second, lot of locals i the restaurant...Good signs so far. Ordered their corn beef hash, and 2 pancakes. When she brought it I knew it was a mistake....a good one. Took a bite of the hash, and I have only one word......DUDE!!!! Best hash I ever had. Period. Friendly staff, good food, in a not so good looking building. That proves again that apperances are deceiving......

Oh, yeah, almost forgot....The steak in the afternoon was to kill for.

Mollies is good, a throwback to another era. Another place for good hash on 97 is the Black Bear Diner in Madras. Parking available on the street. There is also a Black Bear in Reno across from the TA.

Man, that food was sooooooo good. I will definitely try the Reno place.

The thing that threw me off the most at Mollie's was waitresses...Very nice, down the earth ladies, always smiling, nice and polite. I was feeling that I was back in the 50-ies...

Yep, that's a good spot and then there is the Pilot and a few casinos a little further down. They scrape at both T/Ss pretty good in the Winter unless you can't get unstuck. lol Shouldn't be an issue this year though.

I'm seriously happy I do not live too close to Mollies. I'd be as big as a barn! LOL!

Mollies is great, ive found out over the last few years, dont judge a truckstop by the outside. Some of those oldies are the best.
