I always thought that tankers and OTR are dwelling places for people new to trucking and parolees. Rock bottom.

Looks like you're getting some well rounded experience overall.

Well I will say I was probably with the best tanker outfit anyone could get on with. Still had a great pension and was on track to make 100k this year.

Now to make that 100k I had to work 6 days a week, my shift was from 3:30pm to 3:30am, drove an 1hr 15 min to and then back home. Also driver facing camera, no phone policy and the worst micro management I’ve ever seen!

Now that I’ve payed off a lot of things, I’m wanting to get a job to where I can still see my family for a little bit in the evenings and be home on my weekends. Running tankers I maybe seen my family for 10 hours a week total (I have a 15 month old daughter) and that I’m starting to realize...you can’t rewind life.

I think this job will work out pretty good for me in the long run and I think I’ll pretty happy.

The strange thing is I've yet to talk to a tanker who made over $700 per week - dunno, maybe I'm just speaking to all of the wrong ones!

Hopefully @Bob Dobalina chimes in here soon. If it wasn’t for that guy, I don’t think there would be very much info on Dayton Freight out there, which isn’t always a bad thing but definitely helped me in my decision making!
