I applied for my Authority and have to get $750,000 of Public Liability Insurance. Any tips on which Insurance Company to go with?

1 Truck 1 Driver operation. Interstate Authority.
I also have to submit a BOC-3, Process Agent.
    Any info would be appreciated

I'm in the same situation right now and waiting for bids. Post if you find something and I'll do the same. I'm having trouble finding a company that will take new authority. Glad I didn't buy a truck yet. This may kill my business before it gets started.

For you BOC-3 application the best way to do it is to join OOIDA and they will complete and file your BOC-3 at no cost. I called them and they had it completed and filed in less than one-minute. Also. Progressive's commercial website will give you an instant quote. You can change your numbers around to see how your policy changes. I used it for several times and I appreciated that they didn't call or email me.

The only public liability I carried was with individual myself for 2 million with State Farm for a few bucks a month. Should I as a concealed carry shoot a bad guy breaking into my home or car etc and I get sued later in civil court, that's where that insurance kicks in. I also carry USCCA insurance that covers all other forms of defense besides gun.

It's not quite trucking related. But if you did get sued in civil court for this or that, that 2 million will come in handy. (Ive been sued in trucking related twice formally in court as a civil case in my life time)

Wise move. You never know when someone will decide to sue you for something unexpected. I hope it helped you out.

So you think it will cost a lot (or world they even write policy) if person already in the process or close to get into litigation?
