I posted this in another thread also
I have an 09 Prostar, replaced pretty much everything.
Sleeper is completely disconnected because it doesn't work
    have 2.5 lbs in system
AC will blow decently cold for 15-20 mins and then turn to hot.
shut it off, wait 30-60 mins and normally i get cold again, not always,
Have not replaced Evap Temp Sensor, could not find it on truck.
anyone have any idea of WTF is going with this AC? i am so tired of being hot.

Here is the fix I found, dig your ambient air temp sensor out from where ever it is hiding. Mine was under the radiator in the harness on the drivers side. I pulled it out and clipped it to the plastic windshield wiper cowl. I have had AC all summer long since doing that. This is the first time in 4 years of ownership the AC has worked on this truck. And I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at various dealers and independent shops. Moving this sensor solved my problem. The system has been running as it should since doing this.

I moved this sensor and had no change in temp I am getting 57 on max out of vents I read that international recommends 2.5 lbs instead of 3 I think I will let some gas out and see what I get .

3 lbs for sleeper, 2.5 for day cab. Ambient air temp sensor has nothing to do with ac operation.

I am sorry, and I mean no disrespect to anyone, but he believes his AC problems were from that sensor, and he is simply incorrect. I can only guess as to what might have happened with his case, but trust me, it has nothing to do with AC operation.

Putting shut off valves on heater lines solved his issue. Been doing that for a few years now with great success. IHC has one of the worst in cab climate control assemblies that I have seen. Ambient air temperature sensor only affects Cascadia models until 2012 (?) then Freightliner stopped using it to control a/c operation.
