Many times FFE send us towards the seacoast to some tiny tiny little village with a BIG BIG BIG growing nursery shipping east coast. BIG TIME plants, flowers, crops etc. I am floored by the beauty, bountiful and essentially the garden of Eden hiding in that Willamette Valley.
It's kind of hard to get into some of those places, here we are with a wide 18 wheeler and 53 foot on tiny two lanes with trees scraping our sleeper roof and exhaust stack.
You cannot miss your turn into the shipper. We did that once. Ran into a T intersection and sat there a minute left, right or circle back. We had our 4 ways on fixing to do something and all those locals with the cars they actually stopped dead right where I would love them to be and I did a big circle across that intersection to get back.
If I did that on the east coast people would nail me to a tree and leave me. But those folks were really good around big trucks. It's a little scary when they understand what is going through my mind trying to get to that particular nursery behind us. They are not stupid.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -

I'm more of a run a load and get my butt back home kinda guy.
Heck I've considered getting a day cab ( or coffin sleeper to store gear and be a hiding hole) and just rent hotel rooms. 100 nights per year in a hotel would be cheaper than a truck mounted tiny house.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Something for you to keep in the back recesses of your brain...... ( not the dark scary side... The other side).
Can't find anything official on the web. Was up at the Lakewood Kenworth Dealer a couple of months back. Folks from Pape were touring the Kenworth Northwest locations. Service manager said they were being bought.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -

Doesn't bother me to live in the truck. Casper is comfortable. I'll trick him out a little bit next winter when it slows a bit.
But a kitchen would just be SOOOOOOO nice. And I'd absolutely have that kitten I found in York as well lmfao. Unfortunately probably have those hounds from 'Dega as well until I could have gotten them someplace lmfao.
Dropping $3K on Casper now, and he's not done yet.
Full PM was $300 ( Oil / I use Mobile 15-40, oil, fuel, fuel water separator, coolant filters ( Fleetgaurd ), lube, adjust brakes, service 5th wheel, check gear boxes, check tires ).
APU is gonna be almost $2700. APU basically rebuilding everything except the engine. ( Alternator, Compressor, Evap Dryer, Lines, Condenser, Belt, oil & fuel water separator filters, oil, coolant. ).
The difference between being fatigued or good, to me anyway, is comfort level while resting. I mean if the truck beats the crap out of you of course that's not gonna work.
But a little more space, room for a real computer with printer & scanner, kitchen...…...sheeeeeeeeeet.Blu_Ogre Thanks this.
