My experience at holland enterprises

My 18 works fine. My old 15 worked fine too. The falsing was simply not a frequent problem on either. I actually like it and appreciate the extra set of eyes.

 

i actually liked it to. i loved seeing what speed everyone else was driving. lol

 

Yupp, been with them a year and I lost my original dispatcher about 4 months ago and things went to ####. Used to get 1100-2000 mile runs all the time. Now if I get a 1000 mile run I'm lucky. Lots of 750 and short hauls. And the toll road policy is crazy. No toll roads in IN,OH or NY. Must get a P.O. for authorization, they give me the one for NY cause I need to use the thruway to get home. But the shortest fastest way from Gary,In to Cleveland,Oh is 80/90. They pay you that route but expect you to take us-30 Or us-20 across. Average about 90-150 miles you have to drive for free on every load. And not to mention the extra time it takes. And if you run the toll road without a P.O. you pay for it.

 

Is it the fusion system or the wingman?

 

I didn't mind the wingman cause I could overide it if a truck in front of me was doing 62 and I wanted to pass.

 

Neither? New Freightliners have their own system. Older trucks are ... I forgot but none of the two you mention.

freightliner's built in system is called "detroit assurance"

I love/hate it . It's amazing how many truck drivers can't maintain speed on an open highway .

 

It's unbelievable really. How does the system respond? Can you override it with the throttle? This new Bendix Fusion makes it very difficult to pass a slower vehicle. Slows you down to match the speed with a 4-5 second following distance. And then you get out in the middle or left lane and your draggin ### and traffic gets backed up behind you until you pick speed back up and in this international that takes some time... IMO it's just another step towards autonomy. Automated trans, now breaking and lane departure, all just working step to self driving trucks. The system just isn't ready for prime time yet.

 

We don't mess around with flawed technology. We can bypass anything at any time just by applying foot to throttle. An iced over sensor can be bypassed to regain cruise control
