Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Have a felony? The only company that I know will hire if you have a felony (of course it will depend on your felony) is Prime out of Springfield, MO.
Won't get paid the greatest but they do hire felons. -
Sorry to hear that. My school made it sound like there was at least that place for some of the students at our school. -
if u still live in the state where felony was charged, u can inquire on expungement requirements, or speak to a attorney. check your state, if u stay out of trouble for that states prescribed amount of time, etc you can petition the court to close records. but i think it's conditional. depending on company they can, in certain condition see fbi file, which is never closed but fbi will disclose record expunged, but won't reveal nature of charge. you can get a pardon from gov of state, also, which i believe involves another process
google the topic or even contact legal aid, public defender, etc.
i read an article where one state(sorry don't remember which one) is expunging records, in certain cases, cuz of recent trends of rental complexes, as well as employers, to exclude all who have any type of record. it's getting bad cuz many have brushes with law enforcement and it shouldn't be definitive of charcter or mean that you have a life sentence to unemployment and homelessness.
background checks are based on theories & can backfire, remember 911, spies selling secrets in gov, and look at the recent trends of enron type crimes.
and of course immigrants don't have a background here, so they can get training, get your job, cuz u fussin-fightin' with wife..........hmmmmm, that kinda helps facilitate the influx of cheap labor
do the research and see what u come up with.
try the real small companies, and try non commodity hauling , lumber, construction, dirt, etc.. and have a clean mvr and some patience.........hang tuff

WRONG SON..DEAD WRONG...SO WRONG....
That is the marketing scam i talk about. Its a fantasy they shove down your throat, hoping you will believe it.Dead wrong....
I will give you the dream part but the rest is total bull ####.
Being an exp. C.D.L. HOLDER will not get you anything better or more money or better benifits...It is what it is.They are blowing smoke up your a.z.z....
You at 1 year exp and me at 20 years exp means nothing.100% nothing..
This whole C.D.L. CRAP IS A BIG MONEY MAKING SCAM AND PEOPLE FALL FOR IT EVERYDAY....AND IT'S SAD...
If you have a dream to run the road great. But if your intention is anymore then that you will lose. The first 6 months you will be lucky to make 500.00 gross...After that you will be lucky to make 600.00 gross.
The money is all the same unless you are one of the 10% lucky people who land a good job.Not many good jobs left..
Why waste your money and go through all this crap for 500.00 gross...why?
I think your nuts but in a good way.lol, lol -
My felony is over 5 years old and I also am trying to get what they call a certificate of rehabilitation which is like a pardon from the governor and that will do and you are right at the Dept.of justice it will come up pardoned or something to that effect but that shouldn't stop those of us that are trying to make it in this economy and really are going down the straight and narrow from finding gainful employment. Ad then there are the ones who are only out for themselves and can't seem to keep their head up and stay on the path that they have chosen to better themselves that will screw it up for the rest of us well thats enough out of me just don't give up there are some out there who will give us a chance just be patient

I feel for ya. I just graduated from trucking school, had 3 pre hire letters and was ready to go. On my applications I had indicated that I was currently self employed and had been for 2 years. 3 years ago I lost my job due to a non work related injury. I spent the next 6 months recouperating and setting up my buisness. Now all these companies won't hire me because of that first year. All that schooling and money for nothing.
-
truck drivers wont be needed if there is no money to pay them with
-
I am sitting at home right now because I was arrested on a Failure To Appear warrant for a CHILD SUPPORT hearing I knew nothing about! It shows up as a third degree FELONY so I was suspended from Werner pending further investigation!
-
They looked up arrest records or did you have a conviction record? Was the warrant active or already served?
