Once truck is running check the fuel water separator for air bubbles. If you have bubbles then you have a leak. Start by checking the fittings on the fuel lines and visually check for leaks on lines. Take the separator apart and check the rubber o rings. Mine was a compressed o ring on the bottom side of the separator.

It may be bad injector nozzle and to find out you have to pull out all of them. Before you do that prime it by hand pump it is pitch it will take a lot effort and time. But once it starts running it will smoke continuously and it will run very rough then diffenetly it is the injector nozzles one of them or may be more. Good luck. I had an pre egr. 2003 model and I parked about 10 years ago just getting rusted in my parking lot.
