It looks similar! Except for there were lots of cars and a few trucks going through! Had to watch the tail as we turned corners... Boy there wasn't a lot of room to maneuver. I had wondered how on earth were we going to back up to a dock but it was manageable...
Maybe because my husband is already good at backing up. I watched a trucker take about 30 minutes to back up to a door. We picked up a Kellogg load of liquid sweetner.
A worker there had a story to tell.... Apparently a trucker was claustophobia and had been extremely stressed out that he had a heart attack. They had to pull him out of there. I don't know if it was fabricated or not, but I felt sorry for him.
I just looked at my husband's log book. I thought it was in MO but it was in Lenexa, Kansas. Not far from Kansas City.
I took a couple fast pictures and a short video. But my camera was short lived then and it is totally dead. Charger is at home and of course we saw a lot of interesting things! Of course, when we do remember to bring it we'll be back on I-5 doing boring runs. Oh well that's the way it goes!
Oh and Ever, my due date is June 30th.

There's caves in KC and Independence MO
emtepockets Thanks this. -
As scary as it seems or sounds, there are tunnels and caves like this out in cali too. one is for a telephone company out there. it was pretty steep down in there from what i can remember too.
-
It's pretty incredible. The first time I was ever in one of them it was in Independance Mo. When I drove up to it I didn't think that it was even there. Pretty neat. I was making a sales call and they told me the name of my contact was Ronald McDonald, I thought they were messin with me. LOL Turned out that was true, good guy to call on. Anyway, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

How in the world did you ever hold a straight face lol. I know for sure i would to have busted out all over him laughing lol

I remember now, we did cross the MO border into Kansas prior to the caves. And yep, as we drove down this curvy road, all we saw was "farmlands" on hills with grass and a few trees. We looked down below where there were trailers and a small lot for trucks to park. And a HUGE sign that read to park and phone them prior to appointment. They told us to come in so we started to go in and my husband said, through those tunnels? They said 'yes'... It kinda scared me at first as the sign said "all trucks this way, 13"6'" I'm thinking what the hell we are already 13"6'... Hubby slowly crawled in and there was enough clearance for the truck so we went in. When we arrived to the shipper, they asked if we did a wash out... Um... NO? No where on the Qcomm did it say we had to. So back out we went to get that done and came back the 2nd time. lol... So you can say that we were there twice in one day.

Ya should have laughed at Ronald McDonald's.....
Did he look anything like him?
-
Did you take truck through there? I'm not sure I want to enter CA's caves. <G>
-
I did smile a lot and the smiles were genuine. LOL I also told him I wouldnt have any problem remembering who my point of contact was and he laughed.
-
The caves are an experience in themselves. Your impression driving up was just like mine. Nothing could have prepared me for what it was like. Kinda like a city underground.
Ronald McDonald didn't look anything like the one that we all know and support. LOL He was a nice guy. I smiled a lot. Told him it would be easy to remember who I talked to. No one at work could believe the name.
