Stumbled across several utube posts about mixing super glue and baking soda to make temporary repairs. I've never seen this prior and would consider it (depending on whats broke) to keep me rolling. Seems simple enough : prep surface, apply SG, then BS and it hardens immediately. Anyone repaired metal/plastic or anything else for quick temp repair?

Anything other than JBWeld is heresy.

Isn't that the point of super glue on its own? It hardens immediately? Whats the point of the baking soda... unless its to put on your hands to make sure you don't get stuck =)

QuickSteel epoxy, that stuff that comes in a cylinder....has a grey outer layer and a white inner layer. You can drill and tap it when it hardens, if need be.

CharlieK, dont try this and get either one on your skin. if you decide to watch utube, it shows baking soda being added to a small wet puddle of super glue and hardens it up instantly. SG/BS is cheap and common item. JB weld and 2 part epoxy seems much better. Any port in a storm so they say....

Did that trick back in my r/c car days. Could use it on your dash or other plastic to repair cracks etc. Quicker and cleaner than two part epoxy
