I agree. At least at Whites you can get a ride from the shuttle. That is very much appreciated especially in Jan. and Feb.

I was there eating my lunch, and this guy backs in next to me and proceeds to back into the OS w900l centered behind me. He took off, but I got his plate, and gave it to the driver.

 

I would hate to be that guy. I wonder why some people fail to realize it is better to man up than think they can get away with something stupid. It truely is amazing because it just makes the situation worse and the trust is damaged. I bet the owner of the truck that was hit is thankful. I know I would be. Awesome.

 

Yes, he, and more importantly, his carrier was. He got his physical damage through them.

When I saw them at the Jamboree, they gave me a hat.

@TripleSix - never having been anywhere close to that situation myself I'm wondering what would have been the BEST way to get swifts trailer off the innocent truck? It doesn't look like he would have been able to swing the tractor to pivot the trailer away.

If he had stopped BEFORE making contact I could get him out, after I'm at a loss.

 

As a driver you MUST learn the tractors drives and the trailers tandems are not going to follow the same arc. You must make sure those trailer tandems are going to clear by using your tractor to over steer. It sounds funny but that one concept just flys over peoples heads. Also there is a great tool called a mirror that can come in handy. Also sometimes aa crazy as it sounds drivers are not paying attention. However once you hit another truck just stop moving. Sometimes the other vehicle can back 2 or 3 feet after photos are took. That YT video actually makes me sick to my stomach.
